Today we had a sharing session with the asthma nurse. It was a really enriching experience. Other than learning about the different inhaler techniques, we also had the chance to play around with the inhalers. Every time we hear things like "MDI requires good hand-mouth coordination", but we never know how difficult it was until we tried with the placebo inhalers. It was funny watching white smoke coming out from all of our nose and mouth...

因为这个星期有ISO audit，然后boss九月头没空，所以原本是要交换CC和Admin rotation的。可没想到，今天到admin报到的时候突然得到消息；boss不愿这个星期带我们。没办法，我们就像没人要的小孩，又从新回到了CC...haiz...
接收CD一点都不好玩。除了要检查数量准确外，还得一一检查，确保完好无损。今天接受了4000 morphine inj ampoules，全部检查完后，手也酸了，眼睛也花了...
Today we witnessed a CD destruction! We are so lucky that this once-a-year event actually took place during the second day of our one week attachment at purchasing =) This is really an eye-opener for us. I didn't know that there are so much tedious work involved - chasing after sisters for their CD administration books, searching high and low for missing wastage forms and CDs etc. But the most fun of it all is the actual destruction. We had a great time deblistering all the tablets, emptying all the syringes and smashing all the vials...
My partner abandoned me again. This is the 4th time she took a sick leave. I wonder at this rate she is going (~1 MC/２wk). would she have enough leave to last her for the whole 9 months?
Anyway, the TPN ward round this morning was quite interesting. We had a couple of new referral cases, so this is the first time I get to observe how the team assess the patients and decide on a regimen. Initiating TPN is much more challenging than discontinuing one. Just like the old saying goes, 凡事开头难. It was really an enriching experience for me. I also found out today that a bag of TPN actually cost about $250! So imagine a patient with gastroparesis, requiring 1 bag of TPN everyday for months....$$$$$......

今天终于clerk完我的case了！我可怜的眼睛都差点看花了。想到以后还得看更多的医疗记录我就头痛。医生们的字是出了名的潦草，简直跟“鬼画符“没两样。好多时候我看老半天，却只能看懂片言只字。要是哪天我碰到一位规规矩矩写字的大夫，那还真是罕事一桩。更惨的是记录里充满了医药专用名词，其中夹杂着英文、英文缩写甚至拉丁文，让我更是一个头两个大。咳，我想我会慢慢适应的．．．
昨天是我们pre-reggers的欢迎会。奇怪了，明明是给我们的party，可却要求我们来表演娱乐大家，这是什么道理嘛？！不过，这一点小小的要求一点也没有难倒我们。我们编排了个短剧，外加唱歌舞蹈，没几下就征服了观众。简单的说，表演很成功。除了我们的表演外，节目表里还包括了游戏和抽奖活动。我们pre-reggers赢了个大礼包，里面装满了糖果，饼干，朱古力等零食，每人分一点都能装一大盒。当然，最开心的人非姚琦莫属了，因为都是她的最爱。我带回家还没过２４小时，零食就被她吃得七七八八了．．．
在lab已经有四天了。虽然以前大三的时候曾经也attach过，但是，现在的意义不同，心情也不同。以前大多是抱着好奇好玩的心，学学gowning，进cleanroom看看，做做extemporaneous preparations等。而现在呢，心情要沉重的多。除了做不完的assignments，就是读不完的readings。我这才发现原来TPN和营养学一点都不好玩，弄得我整个脑子现在都成了浆糊了，什么头绪都理不出...
今天下午5点多开始，公寓1楼到4楼全部都停水了！听说是因为水管爆了。幸好我们家的水并没有断，这多亏有了楼上的水箱。不过，不知这缺水的状况还要维持多久，没有水的日子可真不好过，还得领着桶到楼下的水车去取水。说多麻烦就有多麻烦。所以趁现在还有水，我和老爸一回到家便洗澡，然后才敢安心地坐下来吃晚饭...
