World diabetes Day.
Just ended my shift (12-2pm). Probably cos it's lunch break, there were alot of people wanting their blood pressure to be measured during my shift. You can even see queues at booth 1 and 3, which are the pamphlets and counselling booths respectively. Luckily, blood pressure monitoring is quite fast, so there are relatively fewer people waiting at booth 2(where i'm at). So , i actually managed to slack ard a bit.
saw quite a wide range of systolic blood pressure values today, from as low as 90mmHg to as high as 168mmHg. When i first saw a systolic blood pressure value higher than 130+mmHg, i had quite a shock. It was from this pharmacy senior. He looked fit to me leh. but his initial systolic bp was 164mmHg!! So,i measured a second time and the bp dropped to 129mmHg. Whew. I think it might be cos i didn't fit the cuff properly. *Oops*
I also took my own blood pressure today. For the first time, my diastolic blood pressure is normal. Usually it's higher than normal, ard 90mmHg. Lol. this shows that doctors and nurses make me nervous. the readings that they took are not accurate =p
